Workshop to develop the Scope of Practice for Psychologists in Rwanda. Musanze, October 20-23, 2020      2020-10-22 06:38:15

"Workshop to develop the Scope of Practice for Psychologists in Rwanda. Musanze, October 20-23, 2020"

The Rwanda Allied Health Professions Council (RAHPC), in parternership with the Rwanda Psychological Society (RPS) organized a workshop to develop and avail standards intended to regulate the practice of psychology in Rwanda. The standards should include : scope of practice, competence standards, standards of training and education.

The Rwanda Allied Health Professions Council is a national regulatory body responsible for the compliance of the rules, honour and dignity of allied medical professions in Rwanda, including clinical psychology. It ensures compliance with the principles of morality, integrity and dedication essential to the practice of allied health professions and ensures that its registrants comply with their professional requirements and the laws and regulations governing the health profession.

Psychologists, and particulary clinical psychologists, are entitled to specific rules, laws, regulations and ethical principles in the exercise of their practice. This workshop is expected to avail such very important documents necessary to the regulation of the practice of psychology in Rwanda.
