    "RPS assembly of representatives meetings"

    In conformity with the Rwanda Psychological Society (RPS) constitution, articles 15, 16, 17 & 18; it is organized twice a year ordinary sessions of the Assembly of Representatives to deliberate and resolve on important matters concerning the development of the association. Members of the Assembly of Representatives include elected organs (Article 15), which are the Executive Committee, The Audit Committee, The Organ of Conflict Resolutions, the Provincial Coordinating Committees, and Provincial Permanent Commissions.

    The agenda includes the matters dictated by the RPS Constitution (article 16),which are:

    • Admit new RPS members
    • Approve the activities of the organization
    • Approve the financial statements and balance sheet
    • Approve the activities of the organization
    • Approve the Action plan of the organization

    It has been also resolved that the first day of the ordinary session of the Assembly of Representative will always be an "open day to all" and shall include a seminar reflecting on particular topics. Officials and practionners in the area will be invited to attend and contribute to the "Open day to all", and in particular the Seminar.

    The recent ordinary session organized at AVEGA-RWAMAGANA, July 16th- 17th 2016, officials from the Eastern Province were invited and contributed to the "Open Day To All", with the main theme :"Rebuilding the country after the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda and any role to expect from psychologists".

    Specific topics included :

    • Imiterere y'ihungabana mu muryango nyarwanda, ndetse no mu rubyiruko (The prevalence of trauma in the rwandan society, particularly in youth), by Hon. Senator Dr. Sebuhoro Celestin, and Guest of Honor.
    • Kubaka igihugu nyuma ya jenoside:ihungabana ry'abantu n'imibanire nk'ingaruka za jenoside (Rebuilding the country after the 1994 genocide : trauma related difficulties affecting individuals and communities as a legacy from the genocide), by the Representative of the Eastern Province Govenor.
    • Uruhare rw'ubujyanama mu isanamitima n'iremamiryango:ubuhamya bwa AVEGA (The psychological counselling in individuals and communities rehabilitations:testimonies from AVEGA),by AVEGA Eastern Province Coordinator.
    • Kubaka umuryango,ishingiro ry'iterambere rirambye(Family strengthening,a foundation of sustainable development), by the Representative of the Bishop, Kibungo Roman Catholic Diocese.
